Is it any wonder that thoughtful individuals are reluctant to be active in politics?  One would think that all of us would welcome Rep. Paulsen’s heartfelt message of condolence above.  Sadly, it simply invited more mud-slinging.

The carnage in Las Vegas was so terrible that many of us might hope that “someone” could do “something.”  But statements such as these, and there were too many more, are clearly not intended to create or sustain a dialogue.  Rather, they are inappropriate personal attacks.  

We commend Rep Paulsen for his work in representing us and for expressing the feelings held by the great majority of his constituents.
