Views of the New Political Landscape
Election Day is rapidly approaching, and soon we will know the results. The voters of Minnesota have some clear choices. When they make their choices known, what will it mean? Where Do We Go From Here? That is the theme of our annual, post-election day “Fall Conversation”.
We have a stellar panel made up of two political insiders and one astute outsider. From left,
• Matt Dean is the Republican representative in District 38B in the eastern Twin Cities metropolitan area and the former Majority Leader of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013.
• Julianne Ortman served for four terms in the Minnesota Senate, rising to Deputy Majority Leader (2012-2016). She is currently the Chief of Staff for Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek.
• Howard Root is a corporate lawyer turned entrepreneur who founded the Minnesota medical device company Vascular Solutions in 1997. He is the author of Cardiac Arrest, the story of his five-year legal battle with the Department of Justice that was a clear case of federal government abuse of power.
Max Rymer will moderate the conversation. He is host of the Republican Roundtable with a unique perspective on local and state politics. Under Max’s guidance, our panelists will share their thoughts and field your questions. Expect a lively and interactive discussion.
Our “Fall Conversation” fundraiser includes a social hour enhanced by a wine tasting starting at 6:30 pm on Friday, November 16 at the Edina Country Club. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Please scroll down to Buy Tickets and be a part of the discussion.
Elections clearly have consequences. How will we as Republicans go forward with the State Constitutional Officers and House make-up that Minnesota voters will have put in place? Please join us!
