Stacy Bettison Seeks to Flip District 49A in Bid for MN House of Representatives
April 18, 2024, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka –
The Minnesota GOP Senate District 49 has overwhelmingly endorsed Stacy L. Bettison as their candidate for Minnesota House of Representatives seat 49A, serving Eden Prairie and Minnetonka.
Bettison, a resident of Eden Prairie for over 14 years and a well-known and respected business owner and attorney, seeks to serve the western suburbs with a focus on sound fiscal policy, education and public safety – priorities the residents of 49A are more than ready for.
“We are hearing from so many people that they are ready for a change in vision, in priorities and in values. People are concerned about issues that personally affect them on a day-to-day basis: affording groceries, gas and heating their homes,” said Bettison.
The latest polling by KSTP/SurveyUSA confirms that the time is right for Republicans to gain back control of the House of Representatives. When asked who they were “generally more inclined to vote” for, 45% of likely voters surveyed preferred Republicans while 44% preferred Democrats.
“People are growing weary of the progressive social agendas that have dominated our state and have diverted attention away from core issues that people in the western suburbs care about,” said Bettison. “Now is the time to bring a more responsible fiscal policy to the State – reining in out-of-control spending that increased to $72 billion, a nearly 40% increase over the last biennium.”
Stacy feels strongly about focusing on the basics: getting our children literate, funding law enforcement, and enacting laws that support – and do not stifle – business and local government.
In addition to owning BETTISON, a public-relations firm, Bettison is a part-time public defender for veterans in Veterans Treatment Court (First Judicial District) and for the Office of the Appellate Public Defender. She is a zealous advocate for supporting veterans upon their return from service and fights for upholding the safeguards of the U.S. Constitution for indigent individuals accused of a crime.
Bettison has lived a life dedicated to community and public service. As a champion for natural resources, she served on the Eden Prairie Conservation Commission. She also worked with Eden Prairie city staff to enhance the reconstruction of Shady Oak Road with trees and pollinator friendly, drought resistant plants. She has been a volunteer and/or board member for many non-profits, including Minnesota Women Lawyers, Minnesota Association for Criminal Defense Lawyers, the University of Minnesota Law School Alumni Association, the Minnesota Horse Welfare Coalition, the Animal Humane Society and hospice providers in Fargo, Chicago and Minneapolis.
