MN Senior Republicans March 10 Program

MN_GOP_Srs.jpgIn the first hour of our March 10 meeting, Hennepin County Commissioner and former candidate for governor Jeff Johnson will tell us what it's like to be the only conservative on the seven-member Hennepin County Board and will also discuss the impact of the extreme polarization in our politics.

Next, National Committee Woman Janet Beihoffer will talk about the importance of becoming an election judge, a key role where Republicans can contribute to the 2020 election. An election judge is not a "judge" in the legal sense but a precinct worker. You will be trained and paid. The deadline for political parties to submit names is May 1, 2020 so please consider signing up here now--even if you have been an election judge in the past. Janet will also provide more information at our March meeting.

Our featured speaker of the day is Isaac Orr, policy fellow at the Center of the American Experiment specializing in energy and environmental issues. He is co-author of the recent report, "Doubling Down on Failure: How a 50% by 2030 renewable energy standard would cost Minnesota $80.3 billion." Isaac will explain how a proposed renewable energy mandate would increase the cost of energy and destroy jobs but have no measurable impact on climate.
